B+W Day at Saguaro East

Saguaro National Park is split into the Rincon District (on the East side of town) and the Tucscon Mountain District (on the West side of town). They are affectionately referred to as Saguaro East and Saguaro West. I didn't intentionally do a Black & White shoot that day. It just happened that the first one, then a few more, then almost all of them turned out better as B+W images. So I called it B+W Day at Saguaro East, in hommage to the great video of Roy Orbison, entitled "Black and White Night" (the night they filmed in B+W, which turned out to be the best one of nearly a month of shooting). Many other wonderful artists are with him. It was filmed about a year before he passed away.
