UA Arts: The Wall
While volunteering at the Center for Creative Photography, I had seen this outdoor exhibit several times. A friend from out of town wanted to go to the book store, after seeing the LIGHT exhibit at CCP. The time of day and the lighting were perfect. I spent 40 minutes on one rotation all the way around the exhibit, letting it present itself. In the first image (History), I wanted to include the brick wall, as a representation of the long history on both sides, under many different sets of circumstances and politics. Each brick represents a unique individual or event in each country, and all these fit together perfectly into a rich history, so often over-looked. The second image (Both Sides) attempts to capture simultaneously current feelings and emotions. The third image shows the golden light in palm trees against a university building, with all its hope and opportunity — Blocked.
